Simply stated, you can consider Web 1.0 as static website pages and Web 2.0 as interactive websites. This doesn’t mean that there’s a technical upgrade to hardware or specifications, but a way in which developers and end users use the web.
Examples of Web 2.0 are web applications, blogs, social networking site, wikis and video sharing to name a few. A good example of a Web 2.0 feature is tagging. Content can be tagged to provide an easier way for the end-user to search for information. This can create a way for users to independently search for content and not rely on pre-defined categories.
